Winemaker Notes

Possesses a beautiful color with aromas of black fruit and black cherries. Soft tannins support the structure. The ageing potential is assured, but the tannins permit accessibility after just 5 years bottle age.

Varietal Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 59%; Merlot 29%; Cabernet Franc 7%; Petit Verdot 5%

RP 90
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A property that seems to be awakening, this St.-Julien leans toward more of a Margaux style. The attractive earthy, floral, red currant, and raspberry notes are impressively intense and complex in the aromatics. This dark ruby/purple-tinged wine displays elegance, finesse, and a beautiful mouthfeel in a restrained, moderately intense, but still classic style with sweet tannins. Tobacco, cedar, earth, and red and black fruits are prominent in both the aromas and the flavors. This wine can be drunk now or cellared for 15-20 years.
WE 90
Wine Enthusiast
Beychevelle's style is for elegance, and this wine epitomizes that character. It is sweet, soft, with light tannins, achieving a balance of black fruits and acidity, light in structure and depth.

Image of winery
Chateau Beychevelle, A prestigious Cru Classe whose character has been forged by three centuries of history... Nowhere does the word Château in its noblest sense ring as true as it does at Beychevelle.

The elegance of its classical architecture makes it a jewel in the crown of the Médoc, coveted since its creation by the powerful families who have successively marked the economic, political and cultural life of Bordeaux and the regio.
