Red White Sparkling Rosé Spirits GiftsLearn about St. Laurent — taste profile, popular regions and more …
Most common in Austria today, St. Laurent also successfully grows in the Pfalz and Rheinhessen regions of Germany. As the progeny of both Pinot and Savagnin, St. Laurent creates a finished red with a great deal of finesse not unlike Pinot Noir—but with a deeper color and a touch more body.
Tasting Notes For St Laurent
St. Laurent is a dry red wine marked by a distinct Morello cherry note along with wild blackberry, raspberry, herbs, incense and baking spices. With a midweight body, the wine is often likened as a more robust expression to its kin, Pinot Noir.
Perfect Food Pairings for St Laurent
Traditional foods of Austria and Czech Republic work their magic with St. Laurent: wiener Schnitzel, beef goulash, spaetzle, egg noodles with mushrooms and stuffed cabbage leaves.
Somm Secret St Laurent
St. Laurent is the most widely planted red variety in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
