The 2022 Horologist Sauvignon Blanc is well-focused and bright. This wine offers aromas and flavors of rustic earth notes, sandalwood, and dried herbs. Serve it with a green salad and fresh goat cheese. (Tasted: July 15, 2024, San Francisco, CA)

Lime blossom, pink grapefruit and honeysuckle aromas are set to a green herbal backdrop. Piercing acidity, like sucking on a lemon, makes the hint of sweetness almost unnoticeable. Those citrus and floral notes flow to the finish.

A supernova of Sauvignon Blanc flavors. The Horologist wines are made in honor of Nicolas Louis de Lacaille, the French astronomer who in 1752 noted something unexpected in the southern skies. He named the constellation that he saw Horologium: a faint yet beautiful cluster of stars, in the shape of a pendulum clock, thousands of light years from earth. Here in the Marlborough region of New Zealand warm, sunny days and cool, starry nights allow the grapes to ripen at a slow pace, intensifying the grape’s classic citrus and tropical notes. Good wine takes time after all. The result is the production of stunning, zesty and aromatic Sauvignon Blancs. The grapes for The Horologist were harvested in April, with the fermentation taking place in stainless steel tanks to craft crisp and refreshing, food friendly wines that are perfect for every occasion.

Recognized for its distinctively herbaceous and aromatic, Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand is perfectly suited to the grape with its maritime climate, plenty of rainfall and abundant sunshine. Producers have almost unilaterally embraced cutting-edge winery technology, resulting in clean, high-quality wines at every price point from wallet-friendly to premium. Sauvignon blanc is at its best in Marlborough but thrives throughout as the country. It is New Zealand’s most planted and successful variety, also accounting for an overwhelming majority of its exports.
