Winemaker Notes

The second wine from Tenuta Luce, a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, is the result of a selection of the portions of the vineyard most suited to the production of a very pleasurable wine with a fruity profile. Extremely elegant, silky and enveloping.

This has delicious undertones of sage and thyme that highlight ripe yet refined notes of strawberries, red cherries and darker blackcurrants. Full body, a dense, generous texture and a polished finish. Needs time.

Smooth, ripe, and tangy with spice and rich texture; dense, earthy, and long; deep and lush from the estate of Lamberto Frescobaldi.

The Merlot/Sangiovese 2015 Lucente sports a deep purple/ruby color as well as terrific notes of blackberry and plum fruits supported by plenty of smoked earth, toasty oak, and licorice. The second wine of the estate from younger vines and brought up in new and used barrels, it’s a medium-bodied, supple, elegant red that has some chalky minerality, light tannin, and a great finish.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
