Winemaker Notes
This wine shows a yellow color with subtle green glints. The nose is complex, dominated by white fruits, complemented by citrus notes and a touch of minerality. On the palate, it is ample and fleshy yet perfectly balanced, supported by a refined mineral structure. White fruit flavors carry through to a rich and lingering finish. It pairs beautifully with dishes such as lemon chicken tagine or blanquette of veal, as well as local cheeses like Crottins de Chavignol.

This wine is bottled pleasure. Fragrant aromas of juicy green apple, white peach and gooseberry fill the nose alongside orange blossom and white rose petal. The wine is built around a backbone of vibrant, tart acidity that gives the bottling verve along with lemon citrus.

There's impressive harmony to this fresh and attractive white, which offers silky layers of stone fruit and herbs, plus nice white grapefruit pithiness for contrast. Pure and direct, with cool stone minerality lining the finish. Drink now through 2027. 6,400 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.
Capable of a vast array of styles, Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing variety that equally reflects both terroir and varietal character. Though it can vary depending on where it is grown, a couple of commonalities always exist—namely, zesty acidity and intense aromatics. This variety is of French provenance. Somm Secret—Along with Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc is a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon. That green bell pepper aroma that all three varieties share is no coincidence—it comes from a high concentration of pyrazines (herbaceous aromatic compounds) inherent to each member of the family.
Famous in the Loire and throughout the world for perfumed Sauvignon blanc, Pouilly-Fume sits due east, across the Loire River from Sancerre. Limestone soils with clay and flint (also called silex) contribute to the wines' freshness and often times smoky, flinty, mineral character.
