This family owned estate has produced top wines within the Loire Valley for generations. The vineyard is situated on the hillside of carboniferous schist which dominates the Layon region. Produced with the local Grolleau Noir grape. This elegant Rosé has great fruit flavors with a nice balanced acidity. All Rose wines are made in the same manner: the grapes are pressed after a light fermentation to maximize the intense rose color. The fermentation is not fully completed in order to keep the roundness of the wine and the essential lightness and freshness is achieved at the same time.

Whether it’s playful and fun or savory and serious, most rosé today is not your grandmother’s White Zinfandel, though that category remains strong. Pink wine has recently become quite trendy, and this time around it’s commonly quite dry. Since the pigment in red wines comes from keeping fermenting juice in contact with the grape skins for an extended period, it follows that a pink wine can be made using just a brief period of skin contact—usually just a couple of days. The resulting color depends on grape variety and winemaking style, ranging from pale salmon to deep magenta.

Known for its delightful whites and sparkling Pétillant and Mousseux, made predominantly of Chenin blanc, Anjou has a temperate and dry maritime climate. The region's limited temperature variations are admiringly referred to locally as the “douceur angevine,” or “Anjou sweetness.” Fruit forward rosé and red wines from Cabernet Franc and Gamay merit Anjou its success within the Loire subregions.
