Winemaker Notes

Marques de Casa Concha is dark ruby red in color, with luscious aromas of cherry and blackberries intertwined with cedar and smoke. These notes follow through to the palate. Tremendously concentrated flavors are revealved in firm tannins, with a soft, silky texture and a lingering finish.

Enjoy this fine Cabernet Sauvignon with prime red meats, firm cheeses and other rich fare.

Critical Acclaim

WS 93
Wine Spectator

Dense, rich and full of dark fruit and spice flavors, supported by muscular tannins and acidity. The dried blackberry, black fig and smoke-infused cocoa powder notes feature some accents of dried meat.

JS 91
James Suckling

Classic aromas of the Don Melchor vineyards (this comes from there) with aromas of rose petals, flower bouquet and currants. Fresh herbs too. Full body, with firm tannins and a tar, berry, walnut and spice undertone. Drink or hold.

W&S 90
Wine & Spirits

The cool 2011 season isn’t apparent in this cabernet. Instead, it tastes of sweet fruit, with ripe flavors of figs and plums building through the finish. The texture is soft, with a thick velvet nap.

The Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked...

The Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without thinking of the other. Although Cabernet has many important outposts throughout the wine world, nowhere else has it achieved such success (and, at the highest end, commanded such lofty prices) than in Napa. Here, it is responsible for bold, opulent, and dark-fruited wines with grippy tannins and a healthy dose of alcohol. The best examples can age for decades. Each of Napa’s smaller sub-AVAs imparts a different character to Cabernet, such as Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
