Intense ruby-red in color with garnet highlights, Corbaia offers jammy aromas of black currants, cherries, and cassis backed by hints of tobacco, mocha, and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied yet supple and layered with a rich texture and well-integrated tannins.

Made with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2009 Corbaia is a richly layered red that reveals elegant tones of red rose, cherry, freshly milled black pepper, prune and dried blackberry. This is a multifaceted and fascinating wine with a firm tannic backbone surrounded by fleshy fruit, bitter chocolate and exotic spice. The 2009 vintage shows a uniquely plump quality of fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030.
In my estimation, Marco Bacci’s Castello di Bossi delivers one of the absolute best interpretations of Chianti Classico from the Castelnuovo Berardenga subzone. Temperatures are a few degrees warmer here on average and soils are slightly richer and redder. These conditions favor dark and powerful wines. The challenge is maintaining balance and freshness – things regularly achieved in Marco Bacci’s wines.
The currants and fresh herb aromas here are captivating. The wine is full-bodied, with integrated tannins and a berry, vanilla and spice aftertaste. Lots of new wood showing on the finish but will melt together at the end with a little bottle age. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon shows all the requisites to be an age-worthy wine. The quality of the fruit is rich, the acidity is bright, and the tannins will carry the wine forward during its slow evolution.

As the mastermind of Castello di Bossi, he oversees all operations, from beginning to end, with careful attention to detail. In the last 10 years, Marco has added two properties to his holdings: Renieri in Montalcino and Terre di Talamo in the Morellino di Scansano appellation. The Bossi Castle is located in the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the southernmost appellation of Chianti Classico, amid evergreen woods and long rows of vines. With his brother Maurizio, Marco owns one of the best collections of estates in Tuscany, and is creating high-quality wines from some of the top Tuscan appellations. The wine consultant is Alberto Antonini and Federico Curtaz is the agronomist. Following in his father's footsteps, Marco's son Jacopo joined the company in 2004. First involved on the production side, Jacopo has come to be especially active in sales in the US and Asian markets.
