Red White Sparkling Rosé Spirits GiftsLearn about Müller-Thurgau — taste profile, popular regions and more …
Müller-Thurgau is a white grape variety created by Hermann Müller in the Swiss Canton of Thurgau in 1882. Following an ambition to make a delightful drinking wine from an easier-to-grow vine than Riesling, he decided to cross it with the table grape, Madeleine Royale. Müller-Thurgau grows with success in Germany, Austria (it is second most planted after Riesling), Alto Adige of Italy, Hungary, England, Australia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, New Zealand, the United States and Japan.
Tasting Notes for Müller-Thurgau
Müller-Thurgau is a dry, white wine with a full-body as well as marked floral and herbal aromatics. It has a refreshing, ripe, peach or mango character that balances an inherent crisp quality.
