It expresses a complex fruity character with notes of black fruits, plumb and black cherry, which are complemented by fresh herbal subtleties. It has a vivacious beginning in the mouth. Juicy, with alively acidity, elegant, of grand structure and complexity, with a prolonged finish.

In 2011, they also started bottling a single vineyard wine (and there are three in 2012). This first one is phenomenal. The 2011 Finca Los Membrillos from a single vineyard located in La Consulta at 1,090 meters on the border with Altamira on calcareous soils. The grapes are vinified by soil type in egg-shaped cement vats. For this wine he only used the grapes from the deeper soils as he feels the more shallow soils end up drying the tannins. It has a bright purple color and an elegant, subtle and intense nose, displaying notes of ripe peach, flowers, red fruit and unnoticeable oak. The palate displays abundant ripe, fine-grained tannins and juicy fruit, a touch of alcohol, and a tasty and long finish, with a texture that is very specific. The floral character of the wine doesn’t make it feel like a pure Cabernet Sauvignon, which it is. A great wine, independent of grape variety, showing the place, not only over the process, but also above the variety used.

Offers impressive structure and freshness to the black olive, dark plum, mincemeat and cherry tart flavors, which are long and well-spiced. Hints of dried ginger midpalate give this an exotic touch, leading to an airy, crisp finish. Drink now through 2018. 175 cases made.

This is very chewy and tannic with currants and chocolate with walnuts. Full body and intense.

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbecand Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.

With a winning combination of cool weather, high elevation and well-draining alluvial soils, it is no surprise that Mendoza’s Uco Valley is one of the most exciting up-and-coming wine regions in Argentina. Healthy, easy-to-manage vines produce low yields of high-quality fruit, which in turn create flavorful, full-bodied wines with generous acidity.

This is the source of some of the best Malbec in Mendoza, which can range from value-priced to ultra-premium. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay also perform well here.
