Winemaker Notes

The generous palate is packed full of juicy fruits of the forest, cassis and red currant characters. Medium to full-bodied, the fleshy fruits are supported by moreish, supple and ripe tannins. A balanced wine, with a persistent fruit finish with beautiful regional savory inflections of bay leaf, black olive and licorice and subtle oak influences.

Blend: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot

What more could you possibly want from a $20 cabernet (that's not a question). This has earthy tannic structure, cassis-laden fruit and licorice through the finish. It's not complex, but what it's doing, it's doing well.

Delivers dense mocha, blackberry and black currant flavors and rosemary, black tea and cedar notes that are balanced, concentrated and focused on the long, velvety finish. Drink now through 2030. 6,800 cases made, 2,500 cases imported.

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbecand Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
