The 2023 Riesling Kabinett Armand is the only wine with residual sweetness made at the estate, pitching 40 g/L of residual sugar against 9 g/L of acidity. A subtle pineapple notion adds a tropical frisson to the nose. The palate is super-juicy and super-rounded, with a passion fruit-scented note of apricot compote. This presents smooth pleasure but has fine brightness to balance—a very different equilibrium than Mosel, Saar or Nahe. (Bone-dry)

A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
