Lots of chocolate, oak and blackberry-infused flavor in this dry, tannic young wine. It sure is tight, almost rude in its immaturity, with an astringency that makes the palate pucker. But it’s so deep and dense, so packed with intensity, you just know it will come around in the cellar. 2013–2019.Cellar Selection

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The opaque purple 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits cassis, charcoal, graphite, and sweet tannins in an exuberant, opulent style that would please both Joe the plumber and the connoisseur. It is deep, fleshy, and best drunk over the next 10-15 years.

Founded in 1999 and named after proprietor Launny Steffens’ life and background in the world of finance with a theme encompassed by numerics, and a keen interest in numerology — “seven” being a number of luck in western culture, while “eight” follows the meanings of prosperity and happiness in eastern culture — Vineyard 7 & 8 is the culmination of the family’s pursuit for producing fine wines including Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
