Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The varietal Graciano 2022 Cuatro del Cuatro, their homage to their father, who didn't grub up the vines when many did. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast, and the wine matured in used 300- and 500-liter barrels for one year. It has good ripeness, 13.65% alcohol with a pH of 3.45 and 5.5 grams of acidity. It's perfumed and floral, varietal, perhaps with a little more rusticity than in previous vintages. They selected six 500-liter barres and two 300-liter ones to make this cuvée.

Fresh and vibrant, with bright berry fruit, dark spices and graphite. Juicy and fluid, with tamed fresh tannins and a medium-long finish. A very drinkable graciano to enjoy now or hold.
Beyond the usual suspects, there are hundreds of red grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines, while others are better suited for use as blending grapes. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles, offering much to be discovered by the curious wine lover. In particular, Portugal and Italy are known for having a multitude of unique varieties but they can really be found in any region.
Just north of Spain’s famous Rioja region, Navarra excels in the production of full and fruit-dominant reds and good quality, dry rosés. Garnacha holds most of the land under vine, with Tempranillo coming in second place.
