The 2020 Soloist is a lend of 75% Cot and 25% Syrah from Cachapoal and was aged for 12 months in used barrels. Vivid, dense purple in color. The aromas feature ink and violets plus touches of oak against a plum backdrop. The Cot brings feisty tannins, while the flow is juicy with intense flavor and a liqueur-like finish.
Celebrated for its bold flavors and supple texture, Malbec has enjoyed runaway success in Argentina since the late 20th century. The grape originated in Bordeaux, France, where it historically contributed color and tannin to blends. A French agronomist, who saw great potential for the variety in Mendoza’s hot, high-altitude landscape, brought Malbec to Argentina in 1868.
