This wine is light straw in color with golden highlights and wafting aromas of apricot, tropical fruits and clove. Multi-layered and harmonious, it unfurls honeyed mango, pineapple and vanilla swirls pierced by an intense mineral streamm.

A rich and complex nose with glazed peaches, ripe mangoes, crushed walnuts and pie crust. Hints of dried flowers, too. Full-bodied, tense and mineral with chalky texture that adds structure and length. Beautiful acidity that keeps its nerve and leads to a long, energetic finish.

A blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, the Cantina Terlano 2020 Alto Adige Terlano Riserva Nova Domus is another beautiful interpretation of a very special Alpine Italian wine territory. This hot-vintage blend reveals light spice, saffron, toasted cumin, apricot, baked apple and candied orange peel. It feels quite big and creamy in terms of mouthfeel, and ultimately it almost drinks like a red wine. There is a touch of sweet fruit that sets this bottle up to pair with a Moroccan chicken tagine marinated with preserved lemon.

With hundreds of white grape varieties to choose from, winemakers have the freedom to create a virtually endless assortment of blended white wines. In many European regions, strict laws are in place determining the set of varieties that may be used in white wine blends, but in the New World, experimentation is permitted and encouraged. Blending can be utilized to enhance balance or create complexity, lending different layers of flavors and aromas. For example, a variety that creates a soft and full-bodied white wine blend, like Chardonnay, would do well combined with one that is more fragrant and naturally high in acidity. Sometimes small amounts of a particular variety are added to boost color or aromatics. Blending can take place before or after fermentation, with the latter, more popular option giving more control to the winemaker over the final qualities of the wine.
