Winemaker Notes

Straw in color, this wine has a refined and delicate bead from almost 4 years on tirage lees, which has also resulted in persistent and creamy mousse on the palate. Soft aromas of honeysuckle are complimented with elegant toasty aromas of brioche and roasted nuts from the time spent on yeast lees. A bright natural, citrus pith acidity that lingers on the finish is balanced perfectly with a soft, creamy texture that fills the palate.

Blend: 64% Pinot Noir, 29% Chardonnay, 7% Pinot Meunier

Representing the topmost expression of a Champagne house, a vintage Champagne is one made from the produce of a single, superior harvest year. Vintage Champagnes account for a mere 5% of total Champagne production and are produced about three times in a decade. Champagne is typically made as a blend of multiple years in order to preserve the house style; these will have non-vintage, or simply, NV on the label. The term, "vintage," as it applies to all wine, simply means a single harvest year.

Nestled into the tip of its southeastern coastline, Victoria is Australia’s smallest mainland state, second most populous and third largest wine producer. Victoria includes the cool regions of Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and Geelong, made famous mainly by impressive Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The more inland Heathcote and Bendigo lead the way for complex and textured, full-bodied reds. Rutherglen’s fortified wines compete among the best on the planet.
