Lovely ripe red and black fruit on the nose with hints of dried herbs, cedar, tobacco and vanilla, the palate has a great harmony of ripe fruit, savoury black olive hints and really fresh acidity, complex and intriguing.

The price tag associated with fine wines doesn’t always align with quality, but in the case of Stella Bella’s Luminosa range, it’s worth every penny. The Cab is fragrant combo of blueberries, cherries, florals, soft peppery spice and a streak of something savory and mineral, like sea spray on warm beach pebbles. The tannins are fine, herbal and highly textured, beautifully balancing the juicy silky fruit and returning to its savory side on the finish. Drink now through 2029 and likely beyond. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2016 Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon spent 18 months in barrel, which has imparted a seriously sexy silkiness to the mouthfeel. Red currant and raspberry notes dominate this medium-bodied wine, which seems to show only a minimal proportion of sage and bay leaf. Drink it over the next 6-7 years.
Stella Bella is a boutique winery with vineyards around the Margaret River region. Janice McDonald and Stuart Pym took over the southern Suckfizze vineyard (then called Augusta) in 1996 and Stella Bella was born. Ever since, the winery has won numerous awards and accolades for many of their wines. They have the highest rating, five red stars, bestowed by wine writer James Halliday, signaling consistent production of quality wines. Vineyards are in Wallcliffe, Rosa Brook and Karridale (all in Central and Southern Margaret River), each with their own micro-climate and soil types. All vines are all on their own roots (and not on root stock). Practice is to use minimal chemical inputs or fertilizers in all vineyards and every block is picked and vinified separately.
A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbecand Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
Home to some of Australia’s most elegant and long-lived red and white wines, Margaret River is situated in the farthest reaches of Western Australia. Relatively warm and dry, the region is cooled by breezes from the Indian Ocean. Margaret River takes some inspiration from Bordeaux, producing top-quality Cabernet Sauvignons and Bordeaux Blends with firm structure, mouthwatering acidity, balanced alcohol and notes of herbs and spice. For white wines, refreshing blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon as well as complex, age-worthy Chardonnays are regional specialties.
