Winemaker Notes
Medium depth crimson with purple hues. It’s pretty simple stuff making this homage to a fresh Bordeaux-style white blend. Both the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes were picked at night to ensure they reach the winery nice and cool. Grapes are fermented in stainless steel to retain the gentle flavors. Grassy/lantana characters in the Blanc and citrus in the Semillon.
Blend: 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon

Sometimes light and crisp, other times rich and creamy, Bordeaux White Blends typically consist of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Often, a small amount of Muscadelle or Sauvignon Gris is included for added intrigue. Popularized in Bordeaux, the blend is often mimicked throughout the New World. Somm Secret—Sauternes and Barsac are usually reserved for dessert, but they can be served before, during or after a meal. Try these sweet wines as an aperitif with jamón ibérico, oysters with a spicy mignonette or during dinner alongside hearty Alsatian sausage.
Known for opulent red wines with intense power and concentration, McLaren Vale is home to perhaps the most “classic” style of Australian Shiraz. Vinified on its own or in Rhône Blends, these hot-climate wines are deeply colored and high in extract with signature hints of dark chocolate and licorice. Cabernet Sauvignon is also produced in a similar style.
Whites, often made from Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc tend to be opulent and full of tropical, stone and citrus fruit.
