Winemaker Notes

The 2015 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits the opulence and power of the 2015 vintage while never losing the polish and breed that has become the hallmark of Sinegal Estate. Explosive aromas of ripe plums, violets, blackberries, bakers chocolate and cedar box are followed on the palate by flavors of black currant, blueberries, cocoa nibs and an underlying earth tones. The 2015 is the most forward and ready to drink vintage we have seen at Sinegal Estate however the wine has more than ample tannins and structure to age gracefully for the next 7-10 years.

Blend: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Pettit Verdot, 5% Malbec, 2% Merlot

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% each of Malbec and Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec) is a classic effort that has plenty of black fruits, charcoal, black licorice, and smoked earth aromas and flavors. This black, earthy, rich, full-bodied, and concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon will last for 15+ years.

Reliant on a good dose of splashy, smoky, toasty oak that casts an espresso shadow on the core flavors of savory dark berry, anise and roasted coffee. Ends with a long, sustained aftertaste that glides and lingers. Drink now through 2032.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is deep purple-black in color with an intense cassis and black berries nose with hints of dried herbs, underbrush and Sichuan pepper plus a waft of cloves. Full-bodied, youthful and packed with juicy black fruits and grainy tannins, it has an herbal finish.

One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Today the Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without the other. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that this marriage came to light; sudden international recognition rained upon Napa with the victory of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1976 Judgement of Paris.

Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
