Winemaker Notes
A delicate aroma of white peach and green apple. On the palate, a subtle sweetness dances on lively acidity – playful yet precise. The finish is characterized by cool minerality and a salty freshness.

Giant garden-herb freshness on the nose, then ultra-cool and sharply delineated on the sleek, light-bodied palate. Only in the supervibrant finish does it become clear that this isn’t a completely dry wine. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The 2024 Riesling Nahesteiner Kabinett was picked in classified sites in Burg Layen and the Dorsheimer Goldloch. Tender peach and nectarine notes are edged with lime on the nose. A slight smokiness clings to the palate where citrusy zestiness twirls and spins around juicy but tart stone fruit. This has such pleasure, slenderness and joie-de-vivre. It has approximately 40 g/L of residual sugar against a wonderfully exciting 9 g/L of acidity. (Off-dry)
Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
