Sourced from younger vines, this is a blend of four sites and it has a very attractive fresh-fruit nose with plenty of guava, peach and grapefruit, as well as stony notes. The palate has a very concise, dry, succulent feel with smooth, fleshy, mineral tang at the finish.

Tim Fröhlich's 2018 Riesling Trocken offers a clear, ripe, intense, elegant and even pure and stony Riesling bouquet that already represents the highly elaborated style of this outstanding producer. Lush, precise and salty on the palate, with a nervy mineral acidity and herbal (marjoram) notes on the clear and structured finish, this is a medium-bodied yet quite intense and elegant dry Riesling of remarkable class. Hard to imagine there could be any other estate Riesling of this personality and complexity. Absolutely impressive.

A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
