Winemaker Notes

The word 'Amplus' comes from Latin for important, sophisticated, distinguished, and honorable. This line represents the union of tradition and distinction of its Italian ancestors with the innovation of new times. These are modern wines with tremendous complexity and elegance, with whites that feature all the potential of the new Leyda Valley and reds with the tradition of Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley.

Color Deep violet-ruby-red. Aroma Expressive and long, recalling red and black cherries, prunes and a touch of tobacco and pencil led. Palate Well-structured and powerful, with well-rounded tannins that lead to a voluminous and seductive finish.

Carmenere dominates this blend in notes of red bell pepper and herbs, augmented by syrah and carignan. It's smooth, the tannins firm and delicate, while acidity accentuates the sensation of delicious juiciness.

Santa Ema
Over the years, Santa Ema has been recognized by the most important national and international organizations and has earned numerous medals in competitions such as the Concours Mundial de Bruxelles and distinctions in the prestigious international trade magazines. It was recently added to Wine Spectator's list of Top 20 World's Finest Value Brands, Wine Advocate rated four Santa Ema wines above 90 points, and Wine & Spirits named it Value Winery of the Year. But for Santa Ema, the most important distinction of all is the preference of its consumers around the world to appreciate the work of three generations dedicated to the production of consistently high quality wines.

Light-bodied but captivating with flavors of citrus blossom, melon, white peach and fennel, Verdejo is native to Rueda, Spain, and is growing in popularity. If you’re used to drinking Sauvignon blanc or Pinot grigio, this is the wine for you! Contrary to what some may think, it is actually not related to the Portugese variety with a very similar name, Verdelho. In fact, DNA profiling suggests it is most likely a sibling of Godello, a variety native to northwest Spain. Enjoy this little charmer with a variety of dishes like fish tacos, Thai food, papaya salad or even lemon-spritzed asparagus and steamed artichokes.
