This rum is distilled from virgin sugar cane honey, not molasses and aged using an adapted Sistema Solera process that is truly a work of art. Ron Zacapa 23 Rum provides an elegantly smooth beverage with robust and complex flavors that are best enjoyed on its own. Simply pour over a large lump of pure, clear ice in a luxury rocks glass for a refreshing tasting drink. This rum is masterfully crafted in Guatemala. Aged to perfection in the highlands of Quetzaltenango, where Zacapa Rum develops its complex flavor and character. Using a process of patience, richness, quality and master blending, rums of different ages and personalities are blended and matured in a series of casks previously used to store robust American whiskeys, delicate sherries and fine Pedro Ximénez wines. The final result is artisanal rums aged from 6 to 23 years, which create the exciting flavor intricacies that embody the culinary revolution in the spirits world today.

Often referred to as a Gold Rum, an Aged Rum is one that has been aged in barrels, often Ex-Bourbon or White Oak before bottling. As the Rum continues to age, it draws more and more color and flavor from the wood, adding both body and complexity to the finished product. Aged Rums can be sipped neat or added to cocktails. They fall somewhere in between White and Dark Rums in terms of their respective strength of flavor.
