Winemaker Notes
Rancho Zabaco is named for one of the original Mexican land grants in Sonoma County. Sonoma County encompasses the Russian River Valley, the area from which our grapes are drawn. The wines are inspired by the bold spirit and rich heritage of the Spanish and Mexican pioneers who settled this rugged land. This Chardonnay is our debut release from the famed Russian River Valley. Early morning fog and chilly ocean breezes allow Russian River Valley grapes to mature slowly and achieve a rich concentration of flavors. Bright lemon and nuances of tropical fruit flavors are balanced with flavors of toasty oak, butter, caramel and a dash of nutmeg. Firm acidity carries the lush fruit and silky texture on the palate to a lingering, toasty finish. Rich and complex. Enjoy now, or age for 2-5 years. Accompanies fish and fowl elegantly.
