Winemaker Notes

Intense ruby-red in color, with complex aromas of ripe red fruit, balsamic spices and an elegant toasted note. On the palate, it is exotic, spicy, full-bodied and harmonious, with ripe and well-developed tannins and a persistent finish. Particularly suited for juicy, well-seasoned meat, either casseroled or braised, such as lamb, pigeon, duck, and hare with red wine sauces.

This 100% Cabernet Franc is dedicated to the late brother of Marilisa Allegrini (co-owner of the 110-acre estate). This is a top-notch wine, with succulence, intensity and outstanding wood integration. The spice, chocolate, campfire and leather notes blend seamlessly. In the mouth, the wine is vibrant and long-lasting, with chocolate notes on the finish.

The 2005 Dedicato a Walter (Cabernet Franc) is a wine that continues to impress. Varietal aromas emerge from the glass followed by a warm, generous expression of dark fruit as this beautiful, undeniably sexy wine flows from the glass. It offers lovely weight on the palate, with a variety of roasted coffee bean, spice and sweet herb overtones that emerge with air. From start to finish, the wine reveals superb balance and harmony. It is an outstanding effort in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2020.

This has loads of new wood, but the ripe, intense fruit easily handles it. Big and rich, showing a decadent, wild black forest fruit character on the palate. Opulent and beautiful. Cabernet Franc. Best after 2011

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
