The Podere Forte 2021 Orcia Rocca d'Orcia Villaggio (made with certified organic and biodynamic Sangiovese) has a bright core of cherry fruit and wild berry that feels fresh and intact. It offers crisp aromas of tart fruit, and the bouquet is void of any over-ripeness or heaviness. In fact, this bottle has a fun and approachable personality, making it perfect for a simple dinner of pork chops and roasted potatoes.

Peppery rose and violet give way to crushed raspberries and spice as the 2021 Rocca d’Orcia Villaggio opens in the glass. This is racy and sleek with silky textures and vibrant acidity that enlivens its tart wild fruits. It tapers off with tension, leaving the mouth watering for more as hints of licorice and a tinge of blackberry fade. The Villaggio is deep and beautifully balanced, especially considering the warmth of the vintage.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
