Earthy, leafy notes prevail with dried native mint adding a lovely herbal note. Further investigation reveals cocoa powder, red currants and blood orange. Underlying cedar notes and cherry wood add further oak derived intrigue. An abundance of delightful primary fruit characters with blueberries, strawberries and pomegranates competing for attention. French and American oak maturation characters add a pleasing creaminess and weight to the palate with a distinctive hazelnut signature. Firm tannins with length and drive are supported by a seam of refreshing acidity.
