Winemaker Notes

This wine marries elegance with accessibility. Its soft, round palate invites you to savor ripe blackberry and freshly picked brambleberry all subtly enhanced by a hint of Herbs de Provence. Once on the palate it immediately enchants with its elegance and charm. A stellar choice for food pairing, our Cabernet Franc shines particularly bright when paired with succulent lamb dishes as its herbaceous undertones perfectly complement the richness of the meat.

Blend: 81% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon

Aromas of violets and mocha are captivating, and top notes are floral and focused. Stern tannins grip the tongue, but not a hint of bitterness can be found as spiced plum is swathed in dusty cocoa and crushed boysenberry and balsamic settle on the palate with dried violets. Reminiscent of a chic Chinon.

Vibrant and succulent red with dark and blue fruit, sweet spices and chocolate notes. Full-bodied, firm and a little chewy, with crunchy mineral notes at the end. Chalky but refreshing and balanced. 94% cabernet franc and 6% cabernet sauvignon.

Peju's 2021 Cabernet Franc offers up aromas redolent of tomato or tobacco leaf atop a base of black cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, firm, tannic and richly concentrated, with hints of black tea on the finish.Rating: 91+

Dense and saturated, this bold, weighty wine wraps thick tannins around dark plums, black cherries and blueberries. It needs a juicy, fatty dish to pair with, such as pasta bolognese or a mushroom risotto

Undoubtedly proving its merit over and over, Napa Valley is a now a leading force in the world of prestigious red wine regions. Though Cabernet Sauvignon dominates Napa Valley, other red varieties certainly thrive here. Important but often overlooked include Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties well-regarded on their own as well as for their blending capacities. Very old vine Zinfandel represents an important historical stronghold for the region and Pinot noir is produced in the cooler southern parts, close to the San Pablo Bay.

Perfectly situated running north to south, the valley acts as a corridor, pulling cool, moist air up from the San Pablo Bay in the evenings during the hot days of the growing season, which leads to even and slow grape ripening. Furthermore the valley claims over 100 soil variations including layers of volcanic, gravel, sand and silt—a combination excellent for world-class red wine production.
