Deep ruby red, suggestive nose of plums and berries and with a hint of licorice; a fine wine with a complex bouquet, medium body, fresh and long finish.
Blend: 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc

Aromas of black fruits, violets, and Christmas spices followed by vanilla and baking spices with a hint of graphite undertones. Medium- to full-bodied with chewy tannins and balanced acidity. Healthy and juicy wine. Give this more time to develop. Try after 2027.

Vinous
The 2021 Ad Astra, from vines in Maremma, is packed with super-ripe dark fruit, mocha, chocolate, licorice, leather, tobacco, incense and lavender. There's plenty of Maremma richness and resonance in this plush, extroverted red.

The organic Nittardi 2021 Maremma Toscana Ad Astra is a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc aged in barrique and tonneaux (with only 10% new oak) for 12 months, followed by some down time to integrate in cement casks. You get good value here, especially if you prefer a concentrated, full-bodied style. There is plenty of dried fruit and syrupy cassis that borders on Amarone-like intensity.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
