Light gold in color. Aromas of white fruit, citrus fruit and toast. The palate is fresh, delicate and precise with a finish finely weathered by the barrel ageing.

Perfect with a tripe sausage or Burgundy snails but also with fish, shellfish or poultry with cream sauce or white meat. Hard cheeses (Gruyere and Gouda) or fresh Goat cheese.

    Blend: 100% Chardonnay

Today, the Moillard wine estate spreads over Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune, from Vougeot to Volnay over nearly 49 acres. Half of the wines produced are Premiers Crus. Just as in 1950 (the year Moillard Grivot was founded), the idea of a job well done remains fundamental on the estate. Here, wines of rare finesse and elegance are crafted -- faithful to Burgundian tradition, and with great cellaring potential.

One of the most popular and versatile white wine grapes, Chardonnay offers a wide range of flavors and styles depending on where it is grown and how it is made. While it tends to flourish in most environments, Chardonnay from its Burgundian homeland produces some of the most remarkable and longest lived examples. California produces both oaky, buttery styles and leaner, European-inspired wines. Somm Secret—The Burgundian subregion of Chablis, while typically using older oak barrels, produces a bright style similar to the unoaked style. Anyone who doesn't like oaky Chardonnay would likely enjoy Chablis.

Situated south of the Côte d’Or and above the Mâconnais, the Côte Chalonnaise produces well-esteemed red and white wines.

Côte Chalonnaise includes five village appellations: Mercurey and Givry focus on Pinot Noir; Montagny is exclusive to Chardonnay; Rully makes red, white and sparkling wines; while Bouzeron is an appellation committed to the Aligoté grape.

The limestone soils in the Côte Chalonnaise are similar to those of the Côte d’Or, but the vineyards are more scattered because a lack of one continuous escarpment.
