An amazing wine, the 2022 Michele Satta Cavaliere pulls the vineyard straight into the glass, its opulent Sangiovese profile surging with ripe, sun-kissed red cherry and wild berry flavors layered with a savory Tuscan earthiness that carries through a long, resonant finish; pair it with slow-roasted pork shoulder rubbed with rosemary, fennel seed, and garlic, finished with a crackling crust and served alongside wild rice tossed with porcini mushrooms and a touch of olive oil—the wine’s vibrant acidity slicing through the richness while its depth echoes the dish’s rustic, herb-laced soul, creating pure harmony on the plate and in the glass. A fruity and fresh sangiovese with intense aromas of dried flowers and ripe red cherries. Soft and smooth on the palate, with velvety tannins, crisp acidity, savory length and a chalky finish. Medium-bodied, it shows density and structure with a forthright aftertaste. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

The nose is defined by the flinty, earthy herbaceousness of graphite, wet slate, cranberry, sage, thyme and fennel. The palate has a round mouthfeel thanks to polished, sleek tannins and mixed berries, but remains earthy and savory overall.

The 2022 Cavaliere pours a bright brick/red color and is savory and herbaceous on the nose, with notes of red cherries, fresh Mediterranean herbs, wildflowers, and dusty earth. Made from Sangiovese, the palate is elegant and silky, with fine tannins, medium-bodied richness, juicy ripeness, and a clean textured finish. A very charming blend, it’s versatile and inviting for drinking now or over the next 6-7 years.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
