A rich nose of granadilla, elderflower and pear bring the palate to pineapple, passion fruit and lime with a slightly salty, herb character, reminiscent of the indigenous Spekboom. Brightness, freshness, and intricacy.

Having tasted delicious renditions of Chenin Blanc and Cinsault from Lubanzi's line of current releases, I was hoping to find comparable quality and improvement in this Sauvignon-and find it I did. It shows facets of both the herbal and citrus-based style of Sauvignon Blanc from France and New Zealand as well as the riper, melon-based style of most examples from California, making for a winning combination.

This is a tangy and fruity white that has notes of sliced pear, lemon and peach. Crisp, refreshing and medium-bodied. Sustainable.

Capable of a vast array of styles, Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing variety that equally reflects both terroir and varietal character. Though it can vary depending on where it is grown, a couple of commonalities always exist—namely, zesty acidity and intense aromatics. This variety is of French provenance. Somm Secret—Along with Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc is a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon. That green bell pepper aroma that all three varieties share is no coincidence—it comes from a high concentration of pyrazines (herbaceous aromatic compounds) inherent to each member of the family.
Literally meaning "the black land," Swartland takes its name from the endangered, indigenous "renosterbos" (translating to rhino bush), which used to be plentiful enough to turn the entire landscape a dark color certain during times of year. The district, attracting some of the most adventurous and least interventionist winemakers, excels in robust and full-bodied reds as well as quality fortified wines.
