Estate grown Avni 2019 PN is focused and concentrated with an overlying elegance and silky mouthfeel. The large proportion of complexlyflavored, savory and mineral upper block fruit combines seamlessly with the rounder flavors of
Pommard clone on Jory soils. Though the vineyard was still recovering from drought, the fruit quality was nearly perfect, as temperatures were moderate at harvest, and we avoided the later rains.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Avni has especially detailed aromas of rosewater and cranberries, woodsmoke and gravel dust and fragrant earthy undertones. The light-bodied palate is taught and fresh with intense, detailed flavors and a long, seamlessly uplifted finish. This is dangerously drinkable!

Avni, Larry Stone’s entry-level wine is hardly that; this feels highly structured, tense, sophisticated and layered. It’s squared off by spicy scents of anise and plum, sassafras and rose petal, opening to an airy and lifted wine with firm acids on the finish. It’s still some years from its peak.
