La Famiglia Moscato Bianco (500mL) 2001

Muscats intensely perfumed floral character has seduced wine drinkers for centuries. It is an ancient grape that has been cultivated in the Mediterranean region for more than 5,000 years and, because of the unique aromatic character, it is believed to be the first grape that was identified and classified. Our 2000 Moscato dOro is intensely perfumed with fragrances of honeysuckle and gardenia, and fruit notes reminiscent of guava, ripe peaches and citrus. The lush, sweet flavors are beautifully balanced with acidity. This wines elegant character reflects a blend of old vines in our historic To Kalon Estate Vineyard and young vines in our Stags Leap District Vineyard. Served chilled, our Moscato dOro is an elegant accompaniment to lightly sweet desserts, such as a hazelnut tart or peach and berry shortcake with a warm custard sauce. It is also wonderful to sip by itself after a meal or with a selection of cheeses and fruit.
