Winemaker Notes

A subtle, refined sauvignon, the nose displays lemon, honey and fresh cut grass. The palate is a combination of crisp acid and soft viscosity derived from lees time and in oak. The flavours are a combination of stone fruits, citrus and classic Marlborough herbaceous notes. There is a touch of spice on the palate which is quite dense throughout, and a touch of sweetness to offset the acid. This wine will go well with richly flavoured dishes such as a red Thai curry or marinated smoked mussels.

"Fragrant, with aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, tomatillo, fresh pea and wheat grass. The palate is round and spotless, with a tropical overload of sweet and tart tastes." - Wine Ethusiant Editor's Choice

Recognized for its distinctively herbaceous and aromatic, Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand is perfectly suited to the grape with its maritime climate, plenty of rainfall and abundant sunshine. Producers have almost unilaterally embraced cutting-edge winery technology, resulting in clean, high-quality wines at every price point from wallet-friendly to premium. Sauvignon blanc is at its best in Marlborough but thrives throughout as the country. It is New Zealand’s most planted and successful variety, also accounting for an overwhelming majority of its exports.
