Winemaker Notes
A single fermenter with partial whole cluster took 17 days to ferment and was aged in French oak for 11 months. It was then gently moved to bottle, unfined and unfiltered. The finished wine shows ripe plum, five spice, and cocoa tannins-all classic to the Ribbon Ridge.

A jeweled and deep ruby, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sequitur Vineyard is refined and pure, with a distilled feel of black raspberry eau de vie, an enveloping floral bouquet, and a hint of anise. Ripe, balanced, and full-bodied, with a well-balanced and angular structure, it delivers ripe tannins, woodsy spice, herbal-tinged notes (perhaps from the stems, but in a well-managed way), and a long finish.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Made with 30% whole clusters, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sequitur Vineyard has intense aromas of wild berries, orange peel, oolong tea leaves, juniper and pipe tobacco, and it continues to reveal aromatic nuances as it airs in the glass. The medium-bodied palate features generous, botanical-laced flavors. It has a powerful, chalky frame, mouthwatering acidity and a long, perfumed finish.

Spirited yet elegantly sleek, with vibrant cherry and cranberry flavors that draw in orange peel and black tea accents as this speeds toward zesty tannins. Drink now through 2031. 126 cases made.
Home of some of the planet’s most amazingly elegant and expressive Pinot noir, the Willamette Valley is a pastoral, mixed landscape of green, bucolic rolling hills, dramatic forestlands and small, independent, friendly wine growers. As a leader in environmental stewardship, the valley has some of the nation’s most protective land use policies, with two-thirds of its vineyards farmed sustainably and over half, organically. While the valley claims a cool, continental climate, and is heavily influenced by the cold, moist winds of the Pacific Ocean, its warm and dry summers allow for the steady, even ripening of Pinot noir.
The potential of Willamette Valley Pinot noir continues to attract the investment of serious growers and winemakers both locally and from abroad, as naturally the finished wines bring accolades from professionals and enthusiasts. With a range of styles from delicate dried cherry, raspberry and hibiscus to stronger notes of truffle, mocha, plum and spice, a fine Willamette Valley Pinot noir is a perfect expression of both character and grace.
