COMMENTARY: I freely admit that I of one of my default wines is Cabernet Franc, and the 2016 Horse & Plow did a great job of doing that. TASTING NOTES: This wine balances black fruit with dried herbs in a way that many others can't do. Enjoy it with braised lamb shanks, and you may be a fan of this grape too. With boundaries overlapping the Sonoma Coast AVA and Sonoma Mountain AVA, Bennett Valley benefits from the cooling effects of the nearby Pacific Ocean just like its neighbors. Top grapes planted include Barbera, Pinot noir and Chardonnay, as well as Bordeaux and Rhone varieties.
