Winemaker Notes
This Napa Valley Red Blend exemplifies that big 2015 concentration. The aromas are rich and inviting with juicy blackberry, violet, and anise lending layered complexity. The mid-palate is full and plummy with a touch of roasted oak. This structured yet smooth wine finishes with hints of cola and vanilla.
This wine will pair well with anything grilled especially a double cut Pork Chop or Rib Eye steak and best served with fingerling roasted potatoes tossed in sea salt and rosemary and lightly sauteed baby spinach in sesame oil and sprinkled with seeds.

COMMENTARY: The 2015 Hoopla Mutt Red Wine drinks delectably and easy. TASTING NOTES: This wine shows warm berries, savory spices, and earth in its aromas and flavors. Pair it with pan-fried pork chops topped with red, yellow, and orange peppers. (Tasted: July 14, 2020, San Francisco, CA)
Undoubtedly proving its merit over and over, Napa Valley is a now a leading force in the world of prestigious red wine regions. Though Cabernet Sauvignon dominates Napa Valley, other red varieties certainly thrive here. Important but often overlooked include Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties well-regarded on their own as well as for their blending capacities. Very old vine Zinfandel represents an important historical stronghold for the region and Pinot noir is produced in the cooler southern parts, close to the San Pablo Bay.
Perfectly situated running north to south, the valley acts as a corridor, pulling cool, moist air up from the San Pablo Bay in the evenings during the hot days of the growing season, which leads to even and slow grape ripening. Furthermore the valley claims over 100 soil variations including layers of volcanic, gravel, sand and silt—a combination excellent for world-class red wine production.
