Winemaker Notes
The majority of the fruit for this wine is sourced from Bill and Noel Ireland's "Old Station" Vineyard in the Clare. For this release, we have sourced 37% of the fruit
from McLaren Vale, adding further depth to the wine, whilst maintaining its vibrant Grenache character. With 82% Grenache, its not surprising that the nose is dominated by intense raspberry aromas, with hints of pepper and spice. On the palate, the Grenache continues to dominate, but the Shiraz delivers darker plum and blackcurrant flavors, and generous spice, pepper, and
earthy tones. The wine has a gorgeous mouthfeel, and the flavors are persistent through to the long finish.

Hill of Content was born out of my desire to create interesting Region specific wines at a price that allows for “liberal” consumption. The name translates as “Hill of Happiness”, referring to a state of mind rather than geographic place. I hoped it would also be my own little way of seeking revenge against those “anonymous” glass pour wines that I am sure you to have tried and been disappointed by......you know wines that are red or white, contain alcohol, but you would hardly strike up a conversation about. You be the judge if I have succeeded.
