The 2002 Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a magnificent wine, classic in style, and showing immense power balanced with lush, sweet tannins. The elegant structure of this wine is a compliment to the purity of the varietal fruit from Martha's Vineyard and a lovely reflection of its Oakville appellation.

You are immediately drawn to the celebrated minty aroma of this Cabernet and swept away by the authenticity of its taste --- a mingling of velvety chocolate with ripe berries. The impressive balance makes this wine accessible now, but it will also reward proper cellaring for many years to come.

Tightly knit and backward, the 2002 Martha’s Vineyard offers hints of black cherries, black currants, earth, new saddle leather and spice box. Full-bodied, dense and concentrated as well as high in tannin, this youthful effort no longer reveals this cuvee’s famous eucalyptus aroma, but it does not lack for power, richness or aging potential. Drink it over the next 20+ years.

One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wines. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
