Distiller Notes
Unlike other London Dry Gins available today, Hayman's True English London Dry Gin is distilled to a 150 year old family recipe using a traditional two-day process. Steeping the long-standing family recipe of just ten botanicals in English wheat spirit for a full day before distillation creates a fresh, bright and classically balanced gin with crisp citrus, subtle notes of exotic spice and the remarkable depth and complexity traditionally associated with the London Dry style.
Uniquely suited to the classic cocktails of the 19th and early 20th Century that were built around the style, enjoy True English London Dry’s crisp complexity in a refreshing G&T or a fortifying classic martini.

Overall, this is a crisp and classic profile, scented with juniper. The palate is bracing and astringent, accented by bitter lemon and juniper, finishing lean and clean. Try it in a martini.

Since 1863 five generations of the Hayman's family have acted as custodians of the True English Gin style – providing an unbroken lineage dating back to the original gin boom. Throughout this 150 years, they have been proud to distill True English Gins, using family techniques and processes handed down through the generations.
Today, in an era where most gin producers have focused on what’s new, the family remains committed to championing the True English Gin style first developed by our 19th Century forebears – protecting the classically balanced styles that lie at the heart of most classic gin cocktails.
Unlike other gin available today, this full range of True English Gins are distilled just as they would have been over 150 years ago – benefiting from the authentic period recipes and traditional two-day process that lie at the heart of creating the famously balanced English Gin style.
Produced only in accordance with strict purity standards formulated by an 18th century European Parliament that guaranteed the absence of toxic distillation byproducts, the phrase “London Dry” on a bottle doesn't refer to any specific place of origin, age or ingredients. To be called a London Dry Gin, the base spirit must be distilled in a column still to at minimum, 70% abv. Natural botanicals can be added to the resulting neutral spirit only through re-distillation. Anything added after distillation other than water and a tiny amount of sugar disqualifies a Gin from the title, London Dry.
