Match with“tigelle”, “gnocchi” (a kind of small pancakes - traditional of Modena, the gnocchi are fried - that are eaten with prosciutto, cured meats and different kinds of salame), tortellini, simple meat dishes, excellent with pizza.

The plains of Emilia host four well-defined subzones for its famous, lightly sparkling red, Lambrusco. The more coastal Romagna has the capacity to produce impressive wines from Sangiovese and Albana.
