Winemaker Notes
A cosmopolitan and easy-drinking wine. Its aroma, dominated by varietal character over the tertiary aromas of its aging, and its velvety tannins make it a truly palatable wine for everyone.

The 2022 Enate Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot is a medium garnet color and opens with aromas reminiscent of a morning walk through a forest after a light rain—fresh earth, cool air, and gentle herbs. On the palate, this wine offers juicy, plum-like flavors that glide across the tongue. Its soft and smooth finish makes it an ideal companion for albóndigas en salsa de almendras, the classic Aragonese meatballs served in a silky almond-garlic sauce. The dish’s subtle spices and roasted-nut depth beautifully complement the wine’s earthy aromatics and supple texture. (Tasted: November 17, 2025, San Francisco, CA)
One of the world’s most classic and popular styles of red wine, Bordeaux-inspired blends have spread from their homeland in France to nearly every corner of the New World. Typically based on either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot and supported by Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, the best of these are densely hued, fragrant, full of fruit and boast a structure that begs for cellar time. Somm Secret—Blends from Bordeaux are generally earthier compared to those from the New World, which tend to be fruit-dominant.
Literally meaning ‘under the mountain,’ Somontano is a diverse region located in the foothills of the south central Pyrenees. Heavy winter rains supply the region with water even throughout the summer.
