Duckhorn Vineyards 90+ Point Wine Gift Set
This collection combines the three 90 Point wines from the renowned Duckhorn Wine Company: Goldeneye, seductive Pinot Noir hailing from the cool-climate Anderson Valley; Cabernet Sauvignon from Duckhorn Vineyards, known for its excellent Bordeaux varietals in Napa Valley; and Paraduxx Proprietary Red Blend, a smooth and lush Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot blend.
Wine Gift Set Includes:
- 2017 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Capturing the rustic elegance of the Anderson Valley, this wine begins with lively aromas of fresh-picked wild strawberry, dusty earth and sweet tobacco leaf. The dynamic strawberry aromas are echoed on the palate, where they are supported by supple tannins and a bright underlying acidity that adds energy and zest to a long, nuanced finish.
90 Points Jeb Dunnuck - "Starting with the 2017 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley, which comes from multiple sites in the Anderson Valley and spent 16 months in 60% new French oak, it has a juicy berry-fruited nose as well as ample violets, candied orange peel, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. It's one of the more approachable wines in the lineup yet still has classic Anderson Valley structure and minerality, medium body, and a great finish."
- 2017 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Lush, energetic, and intense, this gorgeous Cabernet begins with aromas of blackberry, huckleberry, and chocolate, as well as hints of mint, cardamom, clove, and graham cracker. On the palate, it displays lovely brightness, with firm, resolved tannins framing flavors of boysenberry and black currant. As it evolves in the glass, subtle sweet and savory notes are revealed, carrying the wine to a long, focused finish.
94 Points Wine & Spirits - "This is a Napa Valley cabernet that does everything right. Renee Ary blends fruit from Duckhorn’s estate with grapes from growers, including 12 percent merlot to point up the luscious texture, aging it for 16 months in French oak barrels (half of them new), without the wine becoming overtly oaky. It’s a wine of elegance and restraint, delicious in its sweet purple-plum intensity, succulent in its earthy tannins. Those mineral tannins retreat into the finish, allowing the savory fruit to move in. Accessible now, this will only improve with a few years in bottle."
- 2017 Paraduxx Proprietary Red Blend
Rich, luxurious, and complex, this wine begins with alluring aromas of ripe cherry, red currant, cranberry, and blueberry, along with sophisticated notes of sandalwood, clove, anise, and black tea. On the palate, smooth, silky tannins underscore the lush black cherry and currant flavors, with hints of chocolate, spice, and cracked pepper adding depth and nuance to the long, flowing finish.
90 Points James Suckling - "Aromas of dried wood and red berries here with eucalyptus and red plums. The palate has a soft, approachable and creamy feel with sweet red-plum flavors. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and zinfandel."
