Winemaker Notes
A great dry Riesling, very complex, displaying great, smoky crystallized minerality with a flinty character – unmistakably Felsenberg.

Dense, grapefruit and sage aromas, then a wonderful combination of great power and stunning vibrancy on the palate. Very long, smoky-mineral finish with great clarity. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2019 Riesling GG Felsenberg is pure, fresh and flinty on the precise, perfectly ripe and complex nose. Lush and generous on the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense, salty, remarkably finessed and structured Felsenberg Riesling with lingering salinity and crystalline character. The finish is dense and very complex yet vital, fresh and long, with lots of expression.

Wine & Spirits
Felsenberg is a steep, warm hillside of ferrous volcanic stone; in 2019, it ripened riesling to a spicy, exotic complexity. In this dry wine, notes of sandalwood, cumin and dusky spice mix with orange peel and clementine; brighter notes of yuzu and lemon lift the wine’s rich texture, almost plump and smoky in its breadth.
Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
