At first quite closed, this has a whole spectrum of citric aromas that slowly open up. Notes of lychee and mangosteen, too. Then comes the wide-screen palate that’s packed with ripe fruit, but still quite tight on the long, very precise finish. From biodynamically grown grapes.

From the clos, the 2019 Riesling Cuvée Théo is very clear and elegant on the pure but aromatic and even slightly flinty nose that exhibits ripe and intense Riesling fruit. Lush and salty-piquant on the palate, this is a round, fresh and pure, crystalline Riesling with remarkable intensity and hidden power and a finely bitter and saline finish. Still young, this 2019 will refine with bottle age. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.
