Winemaker Notes
This Cabernet Sauvignon has a beautiful deep purple and inky color. Lush and firm in the style of the vintage made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Blackberry jam, currants and cassis notes are well balanced with firm tannins. The influence of French oak barrels during aging adds a sweet toast and caramel notes.
Powerful now, it will match perfectly with red meat and game. Wonderful with dishes spiced with pepper. Concrete Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with juicy grilled steaks and other red meats, hearty beef stew, pasta with meat sauce and Lamb Osso Bucco.

An overall balanced and enjoyable Cab Sauv with initial aromas of black cherry and chocolate, boysenberry, violets and deep red rose petals and cedar plank. The palate opens further to notes of black plum, fig and a bit of sweet tobacco. It’s a fullbodied wine with generous alcohol, so pair with something just as robust and hearty.
Lodi is justifiably lauded for its old vine Zinfandels, but it is a production powerhouse when it comes to Cabernet Sauvignon. Lodi and its surrounding area (San Joaquin County) rank third in the state in acres planted to Cab, behind Napa and Paso Robles/San Luis Obispo County. But in total tons crushed Lodi is number one by a wide margin, surpassing Napa and Paso combined. In other words, Lodi produces more Cabernet Sauvignon than anywhere else in the U.S. This more volume-driven approach to viticulture makes possible the value-oriented bottlings that so many wine drinkers reach for on an everyday basis. These offer the varietal’s classic profile of dark fruit, oak influence, subtle herbal and green pepper notes and solid structure. Try Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon from wineries like Cosentino, Ironstone, Lapis Luna and The Federalist.
