The 2020 Montecucco Rosso Riserva lifts from the glass with a whiff of reduction that slowly blows off to reveal an herbal-tinged mix of wild strawberries, cedar and spice. This is rich and velvety, with masses of ripe red fruits and tactile mineral tones complicated by a note of sage. Brisk acidity maintains balance. It tapers off with a woody sensation, like a pine spice box, as hints of chalk dust and inner rose fade. The warmth of the vintage imparted a fleshy, nearly opulent character to the Rosso Riserva.

Crunchy red cherries and raspberries, followed by lifted floral notes and spices with a hint of chopped bell pepper. Medium body, with chewy tannins and refreshing acidity. Simple but delightful. From organically grown grapes.

Earthy and fresh on the nose with potting soil and Mediterranean herbs, a bit of tobacco leaf and tart blackberries. Sour cherries and sweeter blackberries on the palate merge with more earth tones and bitter dark chocolate before dense, textured tannins carry through a spicy warm finish.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
