Straw yellow with greenish reflections. Elegant bouquet with notes of flowers and aromatic herbs: sage, myrtle, rosemary and thyme. Revival of marine iodine in the nose.Dry, medium to full-bodied sip with enjoyable sapidity. Persistent on the palate, mellow and dry finish. Clean after-taste.
Pair with roast fish with Ligurian olive oil; pesto sauce pasta; stuffed squids with pine nuts and olives; stock-fish with potatoes and rosemary.
There are hundreds of white grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles.
Liguria’s most extensive DOC along its northwest coast from Genoa to France, the area concentrates on the production of Vermentino (called Pigato here), Dolcetto (called Ormeasco here), Alicante and Rossese di Dolceaqua.
